Educational Philosophy: Our earliest ancestors used art as a way to honor their past, shape their future, and preserve and present their values. I believe those uses for art still apply today. The purpose of art is not to become better painters or sculptors, but rather, better thinkers. Through art, students exercise their creative thinking skills and grow in their ability to solve problems. They shape their beliefs, identity and perceptions through their creations.
